You ever get that craving...

...and you just need something specific? Well....that got into my mind this morning.

 With the discussion of where we had been and where we want to go earlier this week, I was definitely itching to go somewhere, just get out of the house for a bit. And then sunday I wake up and had a craving for barbecue for lunch. Nice soft pork barbecue. Well, I got all my typical sunday chores done on saturday, so its not like I really have anything to do today. And well, there really isn't anything better than North Carolina pork barbecue.

And as the view out my sunroof shows, its a beautiful day out.

So, that settles it. Plug in the ipod, turn up the volume, open the sun roof and roll down the windows, I am hitting the road for pork barbecue. Don't know where I am going except I am heading for the outer banks of North Carolina.

So, 180 miles, 4 hours, and a full tummy later courtesy of Pigmans bbq in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, I am home. I think now I am going to open up all the windows to the house, plop down on the couch and watch some football and read. And with my full tummy and the nice breeze going through the house, I will probably be asleep within the hour.

Messing with the new guitar.....

Well, like Missy, I have gotten a new guitar recently, as shown below.

And to break it in, well, what else do you do but sit and play? So, here is about....hmmm...a 6 minute clip of me fiddling around with it. Cut down from about a 15 minute clip, where I basically removed parts where I screwed up, or the couple of minutes of myself just staring around the room trying to decide what to play.

Messing with the bass...

Well, since I have another video blog into admin waiting for him to upload of me messing around with my new acoustic guitar, I figured I would repost this video blog of me messing around with my bass guitar.

Just a simple bass line up and back, but I like the sound of it and is one of those things I tend to come back to when I want to warm up or just stretch out my fingers.

What happens when I have too much time on my hands.....

Ok, so maybe I can be a bit hyper at times and have problems keeping myself occupied. What follows can be a prime example of what happens when I have too much free time. I guess maybe I need a few more constructive things to do with my free time.

I mean, this is what happens when to two critters of opposing animal insticts ...well...oppose each other, right?

The day is upon us....

Ok, so obviously my subjects in these blogs of mine quite vary from most people, but hey....you're getting to know a abit about the bear here.

Well, as my subject says, the day is finally upon us. In a few short hours the Virginia Tech Hokies will take the field and begin a new season. Yes, college football is here. And with that come two of my favorite traditions in all of sports. Yes, there is the ivy in Wrigley Field. There is the Green Monster in Fenway. There is the cheese heads in Wisconsin. There is the octopus in Detroit. But, to me, there is only Virginia Tech.
